Quarterly Articles For The Meeting Professional

The International Association for Exhibitions and Events approached Michelle Bruno in 2016 to write a series of quarterly articles for a supplement it publishes in The Meeting Professional Magazine. The engagement has continued into 2017. Here are the topics she has addressed:

The March 2016 article addressed some of the vulnerabilities of meetings and what, according to some experts, meeting professionals can do to deliver a stronger, more inviting “product.”  The June issue gave readers some options–from yoga to mindfulness meditation–for exploring wellness in meetings. In September, she wrote about the challenges of getting technologies to “talk” (share data and functionality) to each other and what the industry can do to nurture event-technology integration. In the December issue, the topic was using game strategies to accomplish meeting goals–a hot one in the wake of the Pokemon GO phenomenon.

So far, in 2017, Bruno has written on two topics of particular interest to the meetings industry. The March issue addressed women in the event workplace–relevant because of the issues surrounding pay and opportunity gaps in an industry that is about 80% female. In June, she’ll cover the growing influence of official services contractors.

In case you’re wondering, this post was edited in March and May 2017. We’re not clairvoyant.
